Abstract

Annotation: The article explains what collocations are, providing examples of different types such as adjective + noun, verb + noun, and adverb + adjective collocations. The article emphasizes how mastering collocations enhances fluency by enabling speakers to retrieve and use language chunks effortlessly. It also highlights how collocations contribute to accuracy by ensuring grammatically correct and natural-sounding expressions. The article explores how collocations are crucial for achieving naturalness and idiomaticity in spoken and written English.  Using appropriate collocations demonstrates a deeper understanding of the language and helps avoid awkward or unnatural phrasing. The article provides practical tips and strategies for learners to effectively acquire and utilize collocations. It also discusses methods for teachers to incorporate collocation instruction into language lessons.
